Puppers Proves It!

When Erik and Elisa sat down in 2014 to determine their annual donations through Erik's workplace giving program, their beloved dachshund, Puppers, inspired them. "First and foremost, it's our love of animals, and the joy and happiness they bring us as a family, that drives our giving," they explain.

Having donated nationally to the ASPCA, they decided to research local organizations. "Based on what we saw, HSSV seemed like a great cause," they say.

Later, Erik and their son, Oliver, came for a behind-the-scenes tour, to see their gifts in action. "The passion for caring for the animals was clear," Erik recalls. "It's very powerful to see firsthand what's going on."

Soon after, the family learned of Sue and John Diekman's $500,000 match toward our Regional Rescue program. Erik was motivated upon learning Regional Rescue saves animals n Silicon Valley and those in under-resourced shelters in counties beyond. "The match got our attention," he says, "and after hearing the details, we agreed this was a great program to donate toward."
