A Meaningful Way to Honor a Life

Joy and Joseph Neely were Humane Society Silicon Valley adopters and longtime donors in years past. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, and their children, Janice, Joe, and Sue, grew up to be passionate animal lovers as well.

Recently, siblings Janice Purcell and Joe Neely gave a combined gift of $50,000, creating the Susan Jean Neely Memorial Fund, HSSV's first named endowment, in memory of their sister, Sue, who passed away 28 years ago. In doing so, they have the satisfaction of knowing that Sue will provide comfort and care to our animals each year for decades to come, simply from the annual interest drawn from this lifesaving gift...and the peace of mind that Sue's deep love of animals will live on and make a difference for animals in perpetuity.
